Ghana Premier League Canceled By the Ghana Football Association through a unanimous decision today, Tuesday 30th of June, 2020.
The Ghana football association has decided on the fate of Ghana football for the remaining 2019 and 2020 season. Through a unanimous decision, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) executive council has canceled the Ghana Premier League.
Kurt Okraku led the 12 member council for hours of deliberation and concluded to close the season prematurely. The main reason for sure is the Coronavirus pandemic. You will recall that the Ghana Premier League was halted since Mid March due to the outbreak of the global pandemic, COVID -19.
The decision to cancel all football competitions was taken during a meeting on Tuesday. Earlier, the Association had announced that a final decision concerning the future of the league would be taken by June 30th. The Premier League was halted on match week 15 with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points.
